For Collectors

Built for the
serious collector.

From your first record to your thousandth — Vinyl Quest is the platform your collection deserves.

You know that feeling.

You walk into a record store. You're surrounded by thousands of records. And somewhere in that store is a record you've been meaning to track down for months — but you can't remember the artist's name. Or the album title. Or whether you already own it.

"You leave with something. You always leave with something. But you walk out with that nagging feeling that you missed it."

Vinyl Quest exists because of that feeling. And because every collector we've ever talked to has felt it too.

Hunt
with purpose.

Your Quest List is the organized version of everything you've been meaning to find.

Build it from search results. Rank records by how much you want them. Add notes about specific pressings or editions. Then walk into any record store knowing exactly what you're looking for — and in what order. When you find it, move it to your Collection with one tap. Cross it off the quest. Start the next one.

  • Build from any search result in the app
  • Rank by priority so you always know what matters most
  • Add pressing-specific notes — first edition, original label, specific variation
  • One tap to move a found record to your Collection
  • Share your Quest List publicly so other collectors know what you're hunting

knows the inventory.

Not an algorithm. A knowledgeable presence that helps when you ask.

The Curator isn't an algorithm. It doesn't push recommendations at you based on what you listened to last Tuesday. It's more like the person at the record store counter who has genuinely heard everything — and who waits to be asked before they say anything. Ask anything. Get a real answer.

  • Complete artist discography and pressing history
  • Personalized recommendations based on your actual collection
  • Genre deep dives and historical context
  • Pressing comparisons — know which version to hunt for

Vinyl Quest AI Advisor
What's the difference between the original pressing of Rumours and a reissue? Is it worth hunting for an original?
The Curator The original 1977 Warner Bros. pressing (BSK 3010) has a warmth in the low-mids that most reissues flatten out. If you find one in VG+ or better, yes — it's worth the hunt. The 2011 Rhino reissue is the best modern alternative if you can't find an original in good condition. Avoid anything pressed after 1980 on the cheap end. The label center should say "Manufactured by Warner Bros. Records Inc." on a genuine original.
Where should I look for an original in the wild?
The Curator Estate sales are your best shot — Rumours was in almost every household in 1977. Record fairs tend to price them high because sellers know what they have. Thrift stores and church sales occasionally surface them ungraded and underpriced. Worth checking the dead wax for "MO" stampers if condition matters to you.
